Welcome to the Strategic Plan Blog

The purpose of South Puget Sound Community College’s 2014-17 Strategic Planning Task Force is to re-envision the college’s mission, to determine its strategic priorities, to align goals with resources, to seek innovation in teaching and learning, and to help students develop efficient pathways to graduation.  Each of us brings a unique talent and perspective to the work of the committee.  Together we can pool our knowledge and abilities and produce a plan that will guide the college and make us a 21st century institution.

 Getting Involved

This is your opportunity to be heard! Engagement Sessions have been scheduled from mid-October through November to bring all campus students, staff, and faculty together to participate in a collaborative and interactive session where your thoughts and ideas can be voiced and recognized. Please make it a priority to sign up for a session or join in one of our open sessions: to be announced soon. During the October to November time period, we still want to hear from you, so this Blog has been created for you. Below, you have the opportunity to "Create a Post" (use the link in the upper right corner), or "Post a Comment" (below the comments section).

Parking

Have vans that run during peek hours from a parking lot in Lacey , that is where you have stated you can afford to create more parking, to the Olympia campus so that it is a 15+ min ride instead of a 60+ min ride.

Have you engaged yet?  Now's the time

The Strategic Planning Task Force is interested in hearing your voice and have scheduled over 22 engagement sessions for people to come and answer strategic questions.  The Task Force will use these answers to create a plan for our future.

What if you can't get to a session?  Are there other means of providing your voice?  Well, Jason and I decided this morning to offer an alternative to attending a session - this blog.

Here are the questions:

1. What can we do to improve diversity on the campus?

2. What key issues must we deal with if we are to achieve excellence as an institution?

3. If you could change one thing about the organization that would really make a difference, what would that be and why?

4. What powerful trends do you see that could impact the organization over the next five years?

5. What are the things we should be doing that we're not?

We would love to hear your responses to these questions, here or at a session, or both.

Here's to shaping our future, together.

Nancy and Jason
